PURE ELIXIR was created in response to the lack of products readily available
that don
’t contain detergents, petro chemicals and other potentially harmful ingredients.
Our company is very conscientious of the impact on the environment of it’s products, packaging and manufacturing process. We use only eco-friendly
stainless steel melting tanks. Low water and energy consumption is very
important to PURE ELIXIR. All of our packaging is recyclable. Our soap is
bio-degradable and safe for the environment and your skin.
PURE ELIXIR was launched by Alyssa Young of Fort Collins, Colorado. In the early
80
’s Alyssa was living in New Zealand. It was here that she developed an interest
in skin and beauty products made entirely from natural ingredients. Ms. Young
has a degree in graphic design, has studied business management, and has been
an entrepreneur since 1983.
“I see soap as a unique art medium. First, there is the play of transparent
versus opaque. By adding natural botanical powders and extracts I get unusual
textures. Ingredients like shea butter make the bars extra silky, and the
natural and food grade pigments are exciting to work with. The addition of
fragrance adds a new dimension to the creative process, as it
’s unique to this type of product. And finally, natural and organic exfoliants
make the soap interesting to look at and exhilarating to use.
I actually have to work at not making the soap too beautiful, strange as that
sounds, because I want people to use them! I don
’t want them sitting on the counter of someone’s guest bath for years. They are meant be experienced.”
Each bar of Pure Elixir soap is lovingly made, and packaged by hand. Quality control is of utmost importance, including using the highest
grade ingredients, and conscientious production methods.
Creating quality products that are good for all skin types is our goal.
